1. Who we are
SpotGuesser is a daily geography game run by John Doe, a sole trader in England and Wales, at 60 St Giles High St, London WC2H 8LQ, United Kingdom (“SpotGuesser”, “we”). By playing, creating an account, or starting or joining a league, I accept these terms. If I don’t accept them, I shouldn’t use SpotGuesser.
2. The game
Every day there is a match in each topic: Football, Formula 1 and Landmarks. Each match is five questions, answered by dropping a pin on a globe; the closer the pin, the more points, up to 500 a match. Each date has one match, the same for everyone, and my day turns over at midnight in my own time zone, as my browser reports it. Only a match played on its own day counts for my streak; older matches can be played from Past games.
Playing is free and needs no account. We may add, change or retire topics and features, and correct a question if we find a mistake in it.
3. My account
An account is optional. It keeps my streak, history, XP, levels and achievements on every device, and lets me make and join leagues.
- I give a real email address and keep my password safe.
- My username must not be offensive, misleading or someone else’s name or brand.
- One account per person. I’m responsible for what happens under mine.
- I must be at least 13 years old to create an account.
4. Playing fair
SpotGuesser only works if everyone plays the same questions under the same rules. I agree not to:
- use bots, scripts or any automated way of playing or collecting answers;
- share a match’s answers before its day is over;
- create accounts or play in ways meant to inflate scores, standings or achievements;
- interfere with the site, its security or other players.
We may remove scores, results or achievements gained unfairly, and suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.
5. Leagues
A league keeps a small group of players with accounts together and shows each member’s daily scores in the topics its owner chooses. The owner can add and remove members, change the topics and delete the league; any member can leave it.
League names and anything else I enter must not be offensive or harmful, and must not identify someone without their agreement.
6. Inviting friends
I have my own invite link. When a friend signs up from it and plays their first 3 daily matches, I get 100 XP and they get 50. XP counts for up to 10 friends a month.
- Invite XP is only XP: it never changes a score, a league table or a leaderboard.
- Accounts made to earn invite XP are removed, and the XP they earned goes with them.
- We may change or end the invite rewards; XP already earned stays.
7. Scores and results
Scores, streaks, XP, levels, achievements and rankings are part of the game. They have no money value, can’t be bought, sold or transferred, and we may correct them if something went wrong.
8. Our content
The questions, explanations, stories, design and code of SpotGuesser are ours or used with permission. I may share my results and links to the game, but not copy the questions or answers in bulk or reuse them elsewhere.

10. Availability
We work to keep SpotGuesser running, but it is provided as it is, without any promise that it will always be available, error-free or that a match will be there on a given day.
11. Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law. Otherwise SpotGuesser is a free game, and we are not liable for any indirect loss, or for any loss of points, streaks or results caused by technical problems.
12. Ending
I can stop playing at any time, and delete my account from Settings. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, and may close SpotGuesser with reasonable notice.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is significant, we will say so on the site, or by email if I have an account, before it applies. The date at the top shows the latest version.
14. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, without taking away any rights I have under the law where I live.
